Cult 70's Porno Director - Gerard Damiano
With Deep Throat as only his fifth film, Gerard Damiano spent the majority of his career in the shadow of the most well known adult films of all time. The marketing power of the Deep Throat name would attach it to every product he helmed, and yet only its follow-up, The Devil in Miss Jones, was able to make itself another pop culture footnote. These two extremes, the corny slapstick of Throat and the disturbing bleakness of Jones, showed off his effective work at both ends of the spectrum. The films that followed continued to offer new directions for his work, and many are remembered by at least the hardcore cult film fan and porn hound. MEATBALL: Dr. Schmock (Harry Reems) sprinkles his new chemical compound, Preparation X, on hamburger he's cooking in his lab and it grows so big it pops out of the pan.
