And will ya check out those postcard, one piece, granny swimsuits. But it was bare legs and thighs and low cut backs, not these clowns suits the 2007 girls wear. This was the era when women's wrestling got "legitimized." It had moved from the circus and carneys sideshow tents, to county fair barns and airplane hangars. And watch how these girls performed, when compared to today's silliness. One thing that remains constant is the sharp eye of the officials. Oblivious to all, but able to count to three, these refs did not have to worry about signature moves and finishing holds. Rather, a cover or pin was just that and he did not have to slap the mat. He placed his hands under the shoulder blades, counted out loud and that was the fall. Check out the electric hair on these dames. Since curling irons were not yet in vogue, they used steam irons. Since hair coloring, per se, was not in vogue, they used Clorox or peroxide to get that bottle blonde look, with strands as soft as straw in the hay loft. And once they got a hold of that aerosol spray starch, we had multi-directional do's. But hot and sexy, for the times, to be sure. Now, these cards did not have the girls on them as an afterthought or some two minute quickie on Monday Nights. These girls wrestled and worked 100 times harder than you see today. Both singles and tag matches, plentiful here in both genres, were mostly two out of three falls and they went the full three falls and easily took 20-30 minutes or more. Since there was no sound, the girls had to "sell" their cheating denials with exaggerated flair and constant head shaking. Almost like they were "signing" in wrestle--ease. Watch how they make wonderful use of the ropes, turnbuckles and tag ropes. If you like to see round house punches, coming up from the floorboards, this be your stop. Stomping, kicking, raking the boot laces across the eyes and face, superior windmill choking skills, all hidden from the ref, but visible to the viewer. And talk about your constant, excessive, and in some cases, non-stop hair pulling, its a miracle that chunks and clumps of these fiber optics were not strewn about the ring. Combo hammerlocks and chokes, front face locks and side head locks, these girls had amazing skills. BTW---- Do ya like Belly Punching??? Seems to be a nice fad about seeing girls pulverize each other's mid-sections. Never mind the c-sections. You will see fabulous belly punching and related belly abuse in this entire series. And some sexy, upper thigh, head scissors to boot. If this was not in a ring, with the surroundings, this could easily be called a bitch fight or bitch brawl or catfight. And some great side bars too------watch the girls signing autographs, not only before the match, but in between falls and even after the match. And look who all the seekers are--------chicks. And check out the babes at ringside, going nutso in the front row. Coming out of their chairs, getting delirious on the ring apron, while their dates and sugar daddies, sit passively by, polishing their bishops over the folded racing forms in their laps. And afterwards, they all ran home to watch "Ozzie and Harriet" along with the Cleavage family, hoping peroxide June may someday appear on one of these cards. These are the true workers, jobbers and pioneers of lady wrestling. Shrines should be built in their honor, so maybe these eye candy centerfolds of today, could learn some real skills. And learn how to show their legs, thighs, cleavage and fanny----not cover them up with some "color by numbers" pants and capris.
